Praying for China

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know that the Olympics are almost here. In addition to the amazing displays of athleticism and sportsmanship, the world has also turned its collective focus to concerns about pollution and the nation’s atrocious record of human rights abuses, including governmental censorship. As we continue to hear the stories coming out of the world’s most populous nation, we need to continue to pray for the communities of Christ followers in China that have been forced to worship in secret. In spite of the government’s hostility towards this movement, the Church continues to grow in the area by leaps and bounds on a daily basis!

Over the past few weeks, we have handed out wristbands as a visual reminder to continue to lift up our brothers & sisters half a world away during this time. There are still a few left. If you’re in the Muncie area, feel free to stop by and pick one up the next few days. We’ll be handing them out again this Sunday morning, too. If you don’t live anywhere close to us, you can still get a wristband. Click here to receive a free wristband in the mail.

If you’re interested in learning more about the persecution occurring in China and in other nations around the world, you might want to visit Voice of the Martyrs’ Persecution Blog.

I hope you’ll join me in prayerful support of our brothers and sisters around the world!
