Can’t Buy It

Mark 10:24 & 25 “Dear children, it is very hard to enter the Kingdom of God. In fact, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the Kingdom of God!” (Emphasis mine)

You hear it quoted all the time the part about a camel going through the eye of a needle. It’s an impossible picture. In fact, it’s impossible. So is entering the Kingdom of God on your own. You can’t buy it. You can’t earn it. You can’t swindle your way into it. It’s impossible to earn on our own.

If we’re going to quote the part about the rich entering the Kingdom being like a camel going through an eye of a needle, we should probably finish the rest of the conversation, shouldn’t we?

v. 27 “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But not with God. Everything is possible with God.”

What’s impossible for us to do on our own is possible with God. Just remember that. We can’t do it on our own. But God can.
