Friendliness and Hospitality

A village in Ethiopia. In spite of severe poverty, we've never experienced such hospitality!

We’re home!

Our family has grown from four to five now that we’ve returned from Ethiopia with our daughter, Elayna Mihret. As I shared this past Sunday morning, our journey to meet Mihret was joyful, heartbreaking, humbling, and just about every other feeling along the  emotional spectrum. Christy and I are still struggling to put the entire experience into words, but we’ll will do our best to share it with you over the coming weeks and months.

Feel free to ask any time!

I’ll admit that I’ve fallen in love with the country of Ethiopia. It’s not just the beauty of the scenery, but the people have captured my heart. They are amazingly friendly and full of hospitality, even in the midst of their poverty.

There’s a lesson there for all of us, isn’t there? The hospitality and friendliness of the people of Ethiopia have touched my heart. Are we touching people’s hearts in our neighborhoods with the love of Christ through our hospitality and friendliness? It’s amazing what a  genuine smile and a kind word can communicate! It just might have eternal impact.
